The Cat and The City are beautifully written by Nick Bradley.
"What had these green eyes seen? Imagine all the secrets and lies it had been privy to, the things that humans get up to when they think no one is looking."
The paws of the cat in every short story may make you wonder who is she. The green eyes, the stare and the tail. A calico cat magically presents in every life of humans to tell its untold secrets. It also makes you explore the myth and folklore of bakeneko - who can turn itself from a cat to a human body. And the adventure begins...
The story brings a different main character which will lead you to connect the dots. It's like a chain that you don't even know will impact one's life. The story that I look forward to is Nishi Furuni's family and his collection of stories.
" You look back at every choice you ever made in life, and all you can see are the mistakes. The things you did that brought you to where you are."
The loss and loneliness in one's heart, the regrets in every decision, forgiveness and acceptance that allows you to indulge the feeling that you experience in your life. You also will find joy under the cherry blossoms to hide your sorrows. The grudge hold and how it affects your life. Others will make you laugh, heartbreak.

One of my favourite short stories.
Chinese Character is one of the short stories that will lead to heartbreak and anger. How women being treated in such a disgusting way but still women need to stay strong to survive in coldness side of Tokyo. It shows how worse the mentality of one country that doesn't stand with women equality. the ignorance of men, urgh!
"The city is too big, too many people, too much craziness going on that goes unnoticed or ignored."
